Hey friends!
As you may have seen on our Instagram, I recently posted some low tox swaps of products I purchased for this new school year. I'm going to be sharing with you which products I swapped and why.
The first thing I started with was what I'm putting on my skin. Our skin is our largest organ, so I want to be especially cautious of what I'm applying regularly on an organ that is absorbing everything I put on it.
I swapped:
Body wash and lotion >>> Avalon Organics Lavender Lotion and Shower Gel
Face wash and moisturizer >>> Organic Argan Oil
Shaving cream >>> Kiss My Face Fragrance Free Moisture Shaving Cream
Sunscreen >>> doTERRA sun Body Mineral Sunscreen Spray
The other thing I focused on is what I am consistently consuming and putting in my body.
I swapped:
Fluoride toothpaste >>> Hello Antiplaque Fluoride Free Toothpaste
Dawn dish soap >>> Truly Free Dish Soap **This one I also consider important for your skin because when you are washing dishes you often use hot water which opens your pores, so if you are using toxic soap then it is going to be absorbed into your skin even more.**
I also revamped my first aid/medicine kit with homeopathic and natural remedies such as Cold Calm and Sinus Calm from Boiron, Wild Lettuce Tincture (which is often used for pain), and a colloidal silver cream for skin burns and scrapes, etc. I purchased Beekeeper's Naturals Propolis Nasal Rinse Spray Max for congestion as well.
Another thing I swapped out was my candles for a doTERRA essential oil diffuser so I'm not breathing in toxic fragrance endocrine disruptors.
I purchased blue light blocking glasses as well for after sunset to help my Circadian rhythm (BTW, if your blue light glasses are clear instead of orange or red, they're probably not doing anything for you).
Well there you go! There's (most) of the things I changed for this school year as I try to reduce my toxin load and support my body. Comment below if you want me to go into more detail about these products or if you want to hear more about crunchy dorm life!
